There are many tents on the market, some are super light and easy to break, some are hard to set up, especially in tough terrain or unpredictable conditions. Whilst being lightweight is important, we set out to design a range of tents that didn’t compromise on strength in high stress areas, and being able to be set up in all conditions is every bit as important. After using many tent brands with both good and bad experiences, we felt we could design more suitable and reliable options for the discerning outdoors adventurer.

The Armadillo 1 being tested in Wild Natives zone of Fiordland.

The design team and myself set about compiling all the feedback from our test team and customers, to design, test and construct a lightweight back country tent that can be used in a few ways and optimise your pack weight depending on the excursion. After 8+ prototypes and 4+ years of design and testing, we have come up with the Armadillo. It’s tough, it’s easy to set up, it purpose-built for the back country terrain and weather, and it will maximise your experience.
